…since my debut anthology of story-telling poetry, “Strong Heart: A Story of Coming Home,” has officially gone on sale and I am just beyond grateful and ecstatic for all the support, feedback, and kindness that’s echoed back. Every time a book goes out into the world, it carries pieces of the writer with it—hopes, questions, memories, and dreams/wishes/prayers that it might land gently in someone else’s hands and heart.
In the past week, I’ve been incredibly moved by two beautiful reviews of my recent book. These words have left me deeply grateful—and honestly a bit teary in the best way.
“Couldn’t put it down. Read through it all, twice, and will revisit several pages to sit with the ideas and let them take root. Beautifully written, but most importantly, beautifully vulnerable.” – Jacque L.
“I really enjoyed all the outdoor imagery, change of seasons and weather, of long times long past and others more present, but most of all I loved feeling like we were sitting together again. Just having a chat on the porch over coffee, living a little slower, unplugging, present to feel the hard, scary things but also to see the more beautiful things.” – Megan B.
To know that the writing not only resonated but also felt like a shared space—that’s all I could ever hope for as an author. Thank you, truly, for taking the time to read, to reflect, and to offer these kind and generous thoughts. They mean more than I can say.
If you haven’t yet picked up a copy, you can find the book here. And if you’ve got any feedback, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to drop me a message or send me an email at adonkumentary @ gmail . com
Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m honored to share these pages—and these porch chats—with you.
I love you (yes, you)
Jess
