i learned today that
snowflakes can actually
look like the cob-web
paper projects we used
to make in school.
they can sparkle like
when we glued glitter
to them, the excess raining
everywhere. (everything
glistened for weeks after)
i was silly to assume that
doily-esque, unfolded
crafts represented snowflakes
like one-line, five-pointed
stars did the ones above;
and I suppose I have
seen pictures of crystal
bursts of snow, closely
microscoped showing
more than white dots.
but today I held one in
my hand: a symmetrical,
twinkling thing, little arms
pointing in every direction
where millions more trickled.
